  • “Volunteering at Millstone Wildlife Center offers you the opportunity to experience wildlife rehab in all of its capacity. The environment is welcoming and encouraging, and the owners aim to have you experience a little bit of everything while catering to your comfort levels a well as your particular interests. This is one of the most communicative and encouraging places I’ve ever had the honor to put my fullest efforts towards; a learning experience delivered in a calm but thorough manner from true and passionate teachers who dedicate every minute of every day rehabbing hundreds of animals a year. Opportunities are always in abundance and the skillset you come away with is unparalleled. Millstone has earned it’s spot as New Hampshire’s go-to for all things small-mammal wildlife; that being said, encountering unique circumstances or special situations is frequent. I’m grateful to have had the opportunity to gain understanding on what it means to be a wildlife rehabber, and the scale at which I was able to indulge and gain exposure was more than I could have ever imagined. I found that the environment gave me a natural motivation to offer everything I could with each visit, and get my hands dirty with whatever they needed on any particular day. You’ll walk away with experience and skills that apply to a broader sense of life outside the context of animal care. The perspective you’ll acquire is invaluable as much as its unexpected, but will prove applicable to your own life and outlook. It’s truly life-changing, and it’s the reason I’m now licensed to rehab small-mammal wildlife on my own.”
